HMN: 8 / 19 / 16

HMN: 8 / 19 / 16: a multimedia event dedicated to representing & giving voice to contemporary Asian identity through art. The night, proudly sponsored by Tiger Beer, featured an eclectic mix of Asian and Asian-influenced creators. Live music and DJ sets by Bohan Phoenix, Matt FX and Tony G scored the night, while stunning visual projections by Hibanana Studio swirled in the background. Simultaneously, visual artist Zeehan Wazed created a wall mural for the guests to enjoy and paint themselves as the night unfolded.

Interactive Mural by Zeehan Wazed

This interactive installation kicked off as the clock struck 7 PM and Zeehan Wazed began sketching a mural upon a 5' x 15' canvas. As he finished the initial layout, guests were invited to pick up paint brushes and contribute to the artwork by painting inside (and outside) the lines. Thus, everyone who attended 8 / 19 / 16 had a part in creating this piece: true artistic and human collaboration.
